Tony Martin and Inge Solheim have returned after a successful trip to Capetown, South Africa to recce the area that the competitors will fly into before they begin their race to the South Pole.

The first 2 of 4 safety vehicles are ready, they have been specially built and designed by Arctic Trucks of Iceland

4 finalists chosen

4 finalists made it from the grueling selection process at Friday Island training center in the Cotswolds. Further testing will be carried out and the final decision is to be made at the end of the week.

Polar Challenge 2008 Finish

All teams have now completed the challenge and are on their way home. It has been a fantastic year. We look forward to the next polar race- AO3SPR starting in December 2008.

Richard 1 week from the Pole!

Teams Prepare to go to Norway

On the 19th of January the South Pole Race teams will depart for Norway, where they will complete a week of Antarctic ski training at the Special Forces Arctic Training Centre in Dombas.

South Pole Race has just returned from Norway after meeting with Norweigan teams interested in defending Amundsen name in the South Pole Race 2008. South Pole Race is looking forward to seeing an international field in the first race to the South Pole since Scott and Amundsens historic battle. Almost a century later, which country will claim the title?
